Manipulating RTDB Points

This topic shows how to add/copy/delete, rename, and update the attributes of RTDB point(s) using the Control Center.

RTDB points can be of three types: Analog, Digital, and String. The procedures outlined below are applicable to all types of RTDB points.

Add/Copy/Delete RTDB Points

Select point you want to copy in the Points Table. If you want to copy a set of fields/subfields for a structure, click on the field/subfield of interest.
Click Copy (). A new point (or set of points) appears in the Points Table.
Rename the point (or field/subfield) as needed.
(Optional) Add/copy/modify/delete other points as needed.
Click Apply () to commit all pending changes to the real-time host.

Select the point you want to delete in the Points Table. If you want to delete multiple points, Ctrl+Click on the points of interest. If you want to delete a field/subfield of a structure, click on the field/subfield of interest.
Click Delete (). The point(s) are deleted from the Points Table.
(Optional) Add/copy/modify/delete other points as needed.
Click Apply () to commit all pending changes to the real-time host.

Select the point you want to rename in the Points Table.
Update the point name in the Name field in the General tab below the Points Table. Press Enter.
(Optional) Add/copy/modify/delete other points as needed.
Click Apply () to commit all pending changes to the real-time host.

Double-click the field/subfield you want to rename in the Points Table. The node turns into an editable text box.
Update the name in this editable text box. Press Enter.All the points downstream of this field/subfield will be renamed.
(Optional) Add/copy/modify/delete other points as needed.
Click Apply () to commit all pending changes to the real-time host.

Select the point you want to update in the Points Table.
The point attributes are specified via the General and Engineering Unit tabs below the Points Table. Update the relevant attributes. If you update a text field, be sure to press Enter to register your change(s).
(Optional) Add/copy/modify/delete other points as needed.
Click Apply () to commit all pending changes to the real-time host.

Use Ctrl+Click to select the points you want to update in the Points Table.
The point attributes are specified via the General and Engineering Unit tabs below the Points Table. Update the relevant attributes. If you update a text field, be sure to press Enter to register your change(s).You can update only a subset of all the attributes (for example, C Type), because certain attributes (for example, Default Value) apply on a per-point basis.
(Optional) Add/copy/modify/delete other points as needed.
Click Apply () to commit all pending changes to the real-time host.
